Co-Hosting: $0.00
Consulting Calls: $110.00

Airbnb/VRBO (Short-Term Rental Income): $4,084.18
Monthly Interest: $624.18
Total Side Hustle Income for August 2024 = $6,964.14
August has been a productive month, with my total side hustle income coming in at $6,964.14. A big contributor to this income has been the steady performance of Amazon video reviews and the ongoing success of my Airbnb hustle. Let’s take a closer look at each hustle to see how everything broke down this month.
Wag: $0.00
No dog-walking this month. While I haven’t been as active with Wag lately, it remains a potential income stream when the timing is right. With a lot going on in other areas, Wag has taken a backseat for now, but I could return to it when my schedule allows.
Amazon Video Review Commissions: $1,143.86
Amazon video reviews have been a steady performer, earning me $1,143.86 this month. This hustle continues to be a great way to earn passive income by reviewing products I’m interested in. While the amount isn’t as high as some previous months, it’s still a solid result, and I’m looking to optimize my process to maintain and grow this income stream.
ShareGrid (Camera Rental): $0.00
No camera rentals through ShareGrid in August. This is something I continue to keep in the back of my mind, but with the right gear sitting idle, I haven’t had a need to list anything. As always, I’ll be ready to rent out my gear when the opportunity arises.
Podcast: $2.92
The podcast earned $2.92 in August. While it’s a modest amount, it’s progress! The goal remains to grow my audience and increase earnings over time. I’m still working on improving the content, building my listener base, and expanding the podcast’s reach.
Airbnb Co-Hosting: $0.00
I started co-hosting on Airbnb in August, but unfortunately, I didn’t secure any clients just yet. While it’s still early, I’m hopeful this will become a big side hustle as I continue to build my network and reputation. With my experience and understanding of Airbnb, I’m confident I’ll be able to help others manage their listings and grow this income stream in the future.
Consulting Calls: $110.00
Consulting calls brought in $110.00 this month. This is a great improvement over previous months and a positive sign that my efforts to expand this service are starting to pay off. I’m excited to see this hustle growing, and I’m planning to continue promoting my consulting services in the coming months.
House Hack: Free Housing
House hacking continues to be a fantastic way to reduce living expenses. I live in one unit for free, and the other two units are rented out—one long-term and one as a short-term rental. This strategy helps keep my housing costs low and my income high.
Airbnb/VRBO (Short-Term Rental Income): $4,084.18
My short-term rental hustle is doing well, bringing in $5,021.00 from Airbnb. After covering the building’s share of expenses, my net income from this hustle is $4,084.18. The summer months have been good for Airbnb, and I’m focused on maintaining high occupancy rates and optimizing the listings to continue performing well as the seasons change.
Building Expenses:
Monthly mortgage payment (including interest): $2,116.07
Home insurance: $151.96
Property taxes: $542.44
Total monthly expenses: $2,810.47
Since the building has three units, the Airbnb portion of these expenses is $936.82 per month.
Net Airbnb Income for August:$5,021.00 - $936.82 = $4,084.18
This is my actual profit from the Airbnb hustle after covering the building’s share of expenses.
Interest Earnings (Robinhood): $624.18
I earned $624.18 in interest on my Robinhood account this month. I continue to keep the funds in the account while I decide on long-term investment plans. It’s a nice boost to have these earnings, even when the funds are not actively invested yet.
And that concludes the August Side Hustle Report.
August has been a month of strong results with total earnings of $6,964.14. While some hustles like Wag and ShareGrid didn’t produce much this month, other hustles, particularly Amazon video reviews, consulting calls, and Airbnb, continue to be reliable sources of income.
Looking ahead to September, I’m excited to continue growing the hustles that are working well and explore new opportunities to diversify my income streams even further. The goal is always to scale, optimize, and test new hustles to see what works best.
