June 2024 Side Hustle Report – $6,264.42

Updated: 4 hours ago

June has been another productive month for my side hustles, with a big leap in earnings and some exciting new developments! As we head into the summer months, my side hustles are continuing to grow, and I’m staying focused on optimizing the most successful ones while testing new opportunities to diversify my income.

Welcome back to the Financial Tutor Side Hustle Report! If you’re new here, I’ve been documenting my side hustle earnings since 2021. Each month, I share the breakdown of what I’ve earned and offer insights into what’s working, what’s not, and how you can replicate these results. Let’s dive into my side hustle income for June 2024!

Side Hustle Income for June 2024

Total Side Hustle Income for June 2024 = $6,264.42

JJune has been a strong month, with a solid increase in earnings across several streams, especially from Amazon video reviews, Airbnb, and consulting calls. It’s clear that some hustles are showing great promise, and I’m focused on scaling these opportunities as the year progresses.

Wag: $0.00

No dog walking this month. As mentioned before, Wag has been on the back burner for me lately. With the warmer weather and a busy schedule, it’s been tough to fit dog walking in. However, it’s always a hustle I can revisit when my schedule allows for some flexibility.

Amazon Video Review Commissions: $1,582.93

Amazon video reviews are performing very well, bringing in $1,582.93 in June. I’m thrilled with the growth in this area, and I’m focusing on increasing my review volume and targeting high-traffic product categories. The key is consistency and quality, so I’m putting in the effort to keep improving and expanding this stream.

ShareGrid (Camera Rental): $0.00

No camera rentals this month on ShareGrid. While I still see potential here, especially with wedding season in full swing, I didn’t have any rentals this month. I’ll continue to promote my gear and stay optimistic about future rentals.

Podcast: $17.74

My podcast earned $17.74 in June. It’s a nice step forward from previous months, and I’m seeing some signs of growth. I’m working on building my audience and refining my content, hoping to see even greater results in the coming months.

Consulting Calls: $75.00

I had a successful month with consulting calls, earning $75.00. It’s encouraging to see this hustle gain some traction, and I’m excited about the potential for more calls as I continue to network and offer advice. The goal is to grow this side hustle by reaching out to more people looking for guidance.

House Hack: Free Housing

House hacking continues to be one of the most effective ways to keep my living costs down. By living in one unit for free, I’m able to offset my housing expenses. The upstairs unit is rented out long-term, and I’m running a short-term rental in the garden unit through Airbnb. This setup allows me to significantly reduce my costs while earning extra income.

Airbnb/VRBO (Short-Term Rental Income): $5,026.00

Short-term rental income has been strong this month, bringing in $5,026.00 from Airbnb and VRBO. After accounting for the building’s share of expenses, my net income for the month is $4,089.18. The summer months are prime time for short-term rentals, and I’m working on optimizing my listings to take full advantage of this busy season.

Building Expenses:

  • Monthly mortgage payment (including interest): $2,116.07

  • Home insurance: $151.96

  • Property taxes: $542.44

Total monthly expenses: $2,810.47

Since the building has three units, the Airbnb portion of these expenses is $936.82 per month.

Net Airbnb Income for June:$5,026.00 - $936.82 = $4,089.18

This is the actual profit for the month after covering the Airbnb’s portion of the building expenses.

Interest Earnings (Robinhood): $499.57

This month, I earned $499.57 in interest from my Robinhood account. It’s great to see a steady return on funds, and I’ll continue to monitor the account as I decide where to allocate the money for investment.

Wrapping Up June 2024

June has been an excellent month for side hustle earnings, with a total income of $6,264.42. Amazon video reviews and Airbnb are the standout performers, and I’m optimistic about maintaining this momentum in the coming months. Consulting calls also showed promising results, and I’m excited to see more opportunities in this area.

Looking ahead to July, I plan to continue focusing on scaling the most successful hustles, while staying open to new opportunities that could provide additional streams of income. There’s always room for growth and improvement, and I’m excited to see where the next month will take me.
